  28. DESCRIPTION

  30.     lk is a linker which will create executable files from
  31.     any valid Amiga object files and libraries. The following
  32.     assemblers and compilers create compatible Amiga object files
  33.     (note that this list is far from being complete):

  35.         GenIm2
  36.         Basm
  37.         SAS/C
  38.         Dice (Upto V2.x at least)
  39.     Oberon
  40.  
  41.     The C compiler from Aztec and gcc create their own file
  42.     formats and are not supported by lk.

  44.     lk has a large amount of features (over 100 keywords)
  45.     and is compatible with most of the existing linkers:

  47.         SLINK 6.x  (SAS)
  48.         BLINK 7.x  (The Software Distillery/SAS)
  49.         ALINK      (Commodore)
  50.         DLINK      (Dice)

  52.     lk is quicker that those linkers and has no major bugs.

  55. NEW FEATURES

  57.     Each new upload includes a file named lk.history which
  58.     describes new features.

  60.     V1.06 all bugs known for compatibility with
  61.           SLINK have been corrected.

  63.           lk now supports archived libraries

  66. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  67.  
  68.     There should be no special requirements. However a
  69.     system with less than 1Mb of memory will probably
  70.     fail frequently. lk has been programmed to be compatible
  71.     with OS versions 1.2 and 1.3. However it has been developed
  72.     under V2.0 and V3.1, so there is no guarantee of compatibility.

  74.     The use of lk also requires an assembler or a compiler
  75.     which Amiga standard object files. To test if your program
  76.     does, you can use this demo of lk and it
  77.     will notify you if an invalid file is found.

  106.     This _distribution_ is a freeware. It contains only a limited
  107.     version of the linker. A registered version is available
  108.     separately, that one is a shareware.
